Text message terms
The terms for every text message Blackthorn Labs LLC sends. They apply together with the description of each message and how a person agrees to it and the privacy policy.
1. The programme
Programme name: Blackthorn Labs LLC call notifications.
Blackthorn Labs LLC sends two kinds of text message, both from its own business telephone line and both to people who have just telephoned that line. The first is a summary of a telephone call, sent to the business owner whose line the call came in on. The second is a single reply to a caller who telephoned the line and hung up before leaving a message, telling them their call was received and how to reach a person.
Blackthorn Labs LLC sends no marketing messages, no promotional messages, and no messages to anyone who has not telephoned the line first.
2. Agreeing to receive messages
A business owner agrees in writing during setup, by giving Blackthorn Labs LLC a mobile number for call summaries and confirming that summaries may be sent by text. A caller who hung up receives one reply to the number they called from, because they telephoned the line and did not complete the call. The exact wording shown at each point is on the text messages page.
Agreeing to receive text messages is not a condition of buying anything from Blackthorn Labs LLC or from any business Blackthorn Labs LLC answers for.
3. How often
Message frequency varies. Call summaries arrive once for each call the business receives. The reply to a caller who hung up is a single message and there is no series. No caller receives more than 3 messages from Blackthorn Labs LLC in any 24 hours, and that limit is enforced by the sending system rather than by policy alone.
4. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Blackthorn Labs LLC does not charge for these messages. Your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
5. How to stop
Reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation and nothing after it:
Blackthorn Labs: you are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.
You do not have to use the word STOP. The words unsubscribe, cancel, end and quit work the same way, and so does an ordinary sentence such as please opt me out, stop texting me or take me off your list. Capital letters and punctuation make no difference.
You can also stop messages without sending a text:
- On a call. Tell the assistant, in your own words, that you want the calls or texts to stop. Stop calling me is enough.
- By email. Write to contracts@blackthornsec.com from any address and include the mobile number.
- On the web. Use the link in any email from us, which opens the opt out page.
Replying STOP to call summaries does not affect the service in any other way. Summaries continue to arrive by email.

8. Carriers
Messages are supported on the major United States carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and UScellular. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Your number and your consent are not shared
Mobile telephone numbers, and the fact that a person agreed to receive messages, are not sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They are passed only to the companies that deliver the message itself, the telephone and messaging carriers, and only for that purpose.
Blackthorn Labs LLC never asks for a payment card number, a bank account number or a Social Security number by text, and never asks for one on a call.
10. Changes
Changes to these terms are posted on this page with a new date. The kinds of message described in section 1 will not be widened without a new agreement from the person receiving them.
